Keep reading to learn how the virtual smile consultation process works.
Step 1
Take 3 Photos of Your Mouth
Every smile is different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to dentistry. We need to have a clear and comprehensive idea of the state of your oral health before making any kind of treatment recommendations. Make sure that you clean your teeth thoroughly before photographing your teeth. In order to make sure you have high-quality pictures to send us, find a well-lit room and retake the photos until you have clear, focused results that you can be satisfied. You’ll need to provide pictures of the following:
Front of Mouth
This is the simplest picture to take. You just need to smile as you normally would for a picture. In order to make sure we have as much information as possible, your teeth should be in the center of the image, and your upper and lower arches should both be clearly visible.
Open Mouth Up
This picture should be taken from a lower angle. We need to have a clear view of the contour of your upper teeth, so be sure to open your mouth as wide as you can.
Open Mouth Down
For this picture, you need to open your mouth and aim the camera down. It’s meant to show the contour of your teeth much like the previous photo, but for the lower row.
Step 2
Let Us Know What’s Bothering You
Simply examining your teeth will only get us so far; we need a concrete idea of what we need to look for. Be sure you describe your concerns in as much detail is possible. Is there a chip or crack that you would like to have corrected? Or are you thinking about improving the color of your smile with whitening or a veneer? Different patients will have different smile goals, so make sure that you’re very specific about what you want.
Step 3
Email Dr. Jeremiah Paylor
After you’ve taken the required pictures and are satisfied that you’ve described your concerns to the best of your ability, email all of the required information to Dr. Paylor. Make sure that each photo is a separate attachment; it’s simply easier for us that way. After taking the time to evaluate the images, we should have our conclusions ready in a about a week, and at that point we can send you our recommendations for taking the next steps. You’ll typically need to have a full examination done before a proper plan can be developed.
